Step 1 – Start Now
Apply for Financial Aid
To determine if you are eligible for federal financial aid such as grants, loans, or work-study submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at http://fafsa.ed.gov.
Federal Student Aid assigns a federal School Code to each college/university. Dixie’s Federal School Code is 003671.

Dixie offers a variety of scholarships and waivers to incoming freshmen and transfer students.
Both Utah residents and non-residents are automatically considered for academic scholarships if they are admitted prior to the scholarship deadline.

Apply for Housing
Exploring your student housing options can be an exciting process! Many of your memorable Dixie State experiences will occur in your future apartment with your future roommates. There are many great student housing options both on and off campus at Dixie State University. To ensure the best student housing experience, students are encouraged to find and identify their housing preferences sooner rather than later as most complexes assign bed spaces on a “first come first served” basis. Begin exploring and planning now to make your student housing experience both comfortable and enjoyable!
Configure your Dmail account
Configure your Dmail account
Upon acceptance to the university or applying for financial aid you will be assigned a Dixie Google Email account (Dmail - Dixie email). This serves as the official form of communication between you and Dixie State University (e.g. financial aid, campus activities, important dates and deadlines).
In your acceptance letter you will find your Dmail username. To access your Dmail, visit dmail.dixie.edu. When logging in to your Dmail, you will use your Dixie ID followed by @dmail.dixie.edu (D00000000@dmail.dixie.edu). Your password is the same password you use for all of your Dixie logins.
For security reasons, you have also been assigned a Dmail alias that you can give out as your email address, you may not want everyone to know your D-number. Your alias is typically your firstname.lastname (firstname.lastname@example.org). Remember, you must use your ‘D-number’ when logging into dmail.dixie.edu.
Check you Dmail regularly in order to stay on top of what is happening at Dixie State.

Complete or Update Enrollment Intention Status Form (Starting mid-January for Fall Semester Applicants)
We want to provide you with the most up-to-date information about your status at DSU. Please complete and/or update an Enrollment Intentions Status Form.
- Once you’re admission is completed, log back into your application status portal by going to apply.dixie.edu.
- Click on Returning users and log in to your account. Your username is the email you used for your application. Your password can be reset by clicking ‘Forgot Your Password’
- Select your submitted Fall 2019 application to take you to your Status Page. Under Enrollment Checklist, click and complete the Enrollment Intention Form
Log In And Get Familiar With Your Canvas Page
- Go to students.dixie.edu and click on CANVAS or go to canvas.dixie.edu
- Use your Dixie ID and password to login
- Take some time to browse your canvas page to become familiar with it
Select a New Student Orientation Date
We want you to have a stress-free transition to college, and as part of this transition, we require ALL new students to attend a New Student Orientation. Orientation helps freshmen and transfer students become familiar with Dixie State University’s campus, programs, resources, and advisors and will prepare you for life as a Dixie State University Trailblazer. There is limited space in these sessions, so reserve your spot today.

Register for your Classes (Starting April 4 for Fall Semester)
Academic Advisors will help you take ownership of your education as you participate in courses designed to promote active learning, active life at Dixie State University. The advisement team will aid you in tailoring your class schedule to help you meet your educational goals and help mentor you on your way to graduation. This course provides tools and tips in a variety of topics including time management, effective study skills, campus resources, test taking skills, and much more. You will also have the opportunity to get involved and have fun while attending DSU.
Send final college transcripts to Records Office
Located on the first floor of the Holland Centennial Commons building the Registrar’s Office is responsible for your academic records. If you have earned any college credit prior to attending Dixie State University send your college transcripts of test scores to the Registrar’s Office to ensure that credit it applied to your Dixie State records. There may be posting fee for credit earned from tests (AP or CLEP).
Keeping your contact information up-to-date is essential for receiving information in a timely manner. To change your personal information, click on the myDixie button and follow the instructions to update your information.
Get to know our Career Services Office
Career Services is here to help you obtain the career of your choice at graduation. We encourage you to visit early and often in your time here at Dixie. We can assist you with self and career exploration, choosing a major, getting a student job, writing a resume, building your Handshake and LinkedIn profiles, taking career assessments, getting an internship or job shadow, and so many other things.
A career of your choice happens by obtaining a college degree AND gaining experience in your desired field. We will help you gain the skills, knowledge and experience necessary while also getting you connected to industry.

Get your Dixie ID Card
Dixie ID Card
Your Dixie ID card is used for checking out materials in the library, gaining access to the Student Activity Center (SAC) and the Fitness Center, your meal plan (every student can purchase a meal plan), entrance to DSU athletic events, and admission to all DSU student activities.
New students will get their picture taken for the Dixie ID card at orientation on the 1st floor of the Holland Centennial Commons Building.
Get a Parking Permit
Students are permitted to have a car on campus. If you do bring your car to college with you make sure to purchase a parking permit so you can legally park on campus in designated parking lots.
Parking permits can be purchased online (Purchase Parking Permit ) or at the Cashiers Office.
Get your Trailblazer Gear & Textbooks
The Campus Store has it all: textbooks, supplies, computer products and DSU apparel. Check out the Campus Store to find out what textbooks you will need for your classes, the Campus Store maintains a list provided by the DSU Academic Departments. You can purchase new, used textbooks, eBooks or rent your textbook for the semester.
Did you know that Dixie State University has an Apple Authorized Store? Located on the second floor of the Gardner Center; the Campus Store offers a wide range of Apple products and educational software. Make sure to stop by and ask us about our Apple, HP, and Dell computer educational discounts.

Paying your Tuition
Paying your tuition
Tuition is due on the first day of classes. Please make all payment arrangements before the payment deadline. If you are receiving financial aid or scholarship assistance, you are responsible for any remaining account balance.
You can pay your tuition online by logging into your myDixie account, or you can pay by cash or check at the Cashier’s Office located on the 1st floor of the Holland Centennial Commons.
If you are unable to pay your tuition in full, there is a payment plan available. This will divide the tuition into four equal payments over the course of the current semester.
Get Involved in Student Life
At Dixie we encourage you to enhance your collegiate experience by getting involved in an organization outside the classroom. Getting involved is a great way to make new friends, build teamwork skills, develop leadership abilities, and gain valuable experiences that will help you in your career and your life. Whether you prefer the D Crew or the Honors Club, find a club or organization to get involved to complete your DSU experience.
Student Right to Know
The Dixie State University Annual Security and Fire Safety Report is available online. This report includes statistics for both reported crimes and fires that occurred on campus.
